Attacks on Health Systems: The Need for Action by the Human Rights Council

09/18/2013

The Government of Norway, the Government of Switzerland, and the Safeguarding Health in Conflict Coalition invite you to a side event at the 24th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva:

Attacks on Health Systems: The Need for Action by the Human Rights Council
Friday, 20 September
11h00 - 13h00, Palais des Nations Room XII

Attacks on health workers, facilities, ambulances, and patients continue to claim innocent lives, both in time of war and during peacetime. When health systems are attacked, communities cannot receive the care they need, individuals fear seeking medical treatment, and health workers flee areas where their skills are in high demand.

Please join us to explore how the UN Human Rights Council can address the problem of violence against health systems and provide guidance to the States and the High Commissioner.
