The Safeguarding Health in Conflict Coalition (SHCC) is collecting first-hand accounts of health workers (including ambulance drivers) whose safety or ability to provide high-quality health care has been affected by conflict or civil unrest in 2022. The SHCC wants to highlight these personal accounts in its next annual report, which will document attacks and violence against health care in places in conflict around the world and provide recommendations for how policymakers can act to better protect health workers and the places where they work.
We are especially seeking accounts from the following countries, which had the most reported incidents of violence against health care in 2022:
- Afghanistan
- Burkina Faso
- Cameroon
- CAR
- DRC
- Ethiopia
- Haiti
- Iraq
- Libya
- Mali
- Mexico
- Myanmar
- Nigeria
- OPT
- Pakistan
- South Sudan
- Sudan
- Syria
- Ukraine
- Yemen
If you have a story that you would like to share and have published in the SHCC's upcoming annual report, the SHCC hopes you would share it with us and to the readers. Please note that organizations may fill this form on behalf of an individual after receiving permission from them. Participating members will be credited for any content used and listed as contributors in the report.
Deadline: November 30th at 11:59pm ET. Submissions should be submitted through this Google Form. For any questions, please email safeguardinghcc@gmail.com
